Cold Process Soap

Cold Process Soap

When it comes to skincare, people are becoming increasingly conscious of what they put on their bodies. Cold process soap making is an excellent way to create all-natural soaps that are free from harmful chemicals.

I use natural clays to add colour to our cold process soap, and they offer numerous benefits for your skin. These clays are rich in minerals and are known to have detoxifying properties. For example, French green clay is used to help remove impurities from the skin (found in our Oat & Frank soap), while kaolin clay is a gentle exfoliator that helps remove dead skin cells, it's found in a number of our soaps.

In addition to clays, we choose to add essential oils to our cold process soap. These oils not only add a pleasant fragrance but also have therapeutic benefits for your skin. Lavender oil , for example, is known for its calming properties, while tea tree oil has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that can help combat acne like in our Black Magic soap.

When it comes to the oils used in cold process soap making, many plant-based options are available. Sweet almond oil is known for its moisturizing properties, while shea butter is an excellent emollient that can help soothe dry, irritated skin. Olive oil and coconut oil are also popular choices due to their cleansing properties and ability to create a rich, creamy lather.

One of the main benefits of all-natural cold process soap is that it is softer and gentler on the skin than what you buy from the shops. Many commercial soaps contain harsh chemicals that can strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it feeling dry and tight. By contrast, all-natural soaps are formulated with gentle, nourishing ingredients that can help keep your skin soft, supple, and healthy.

In conclusion, all-natural cold process soap making is an excellent way to create safe, healthy, and effective skincare products. By using natural clays for color and essential oils for fragrance and therapeutic benefits, I can customise your soap to meet your individual needs. And by using plant-based oils like sweet almond oil, shea butter, olive oil, and coconut oil, you can create a soap that is gentle and nourishing for your skin. So why not try and make the switch. You'll be ditching harsh chemicals and the plastic in your bathroom!
